HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Happy Birthday Y- Litter. Yes!!! Yukon is already a year old according to his papers. But that's it, he still behaves like the tiny thing I picked up last year just bigger. Still no sign of being a naughty teenager.... He had a lot of presents and a great day out with his pack mates...

Agility, Search and Rescue and a lesson for live

We had Agility Training today. Yukon has nice touch points but need to learn to wait for the release command. We work on it. Indy was so drivy today, when I got him out of the van, that the first round was so crapp with a lot of barking and not listening ..... totally horrible.
Lesley came along and we done some Search and Rescue Training. We got Sandra's Rottweiler out and done some simple run away games with her. She is running out nicely. At the moment she is very food orientated, so we have to find that toy for her. I think a squeaky toy would do. Indy's alert is still not like I really want it, so I have to change my training approach again and cue him into barking for a while, than reward him for stopping me and barking at me.
It was not all about dog training today, I been teached a big lesson today. I never realised in all them years training with the same people, that my "jokes" about Border Collies might not taken by them as jokes. I always thought, due to nearly every Border handler know what marvelous breed they are to them, they take my comments as jokes, due to me never would be able to handle a collie. This is why I did choose a breed suiting me. I upsad two of my loveliest and most supportive friends I ever had and did not realised what I was doing. That showed me also today, how dangerous blogspots, emails, sms and face book could be. What is been written as a joke in one of my post came across as an insult on their very hard working very high up in the grades Agility dogs. When I wrote it, I thought everybody would think, after reading it and knowing what border collies are capable of..... "you wish Karin you and your Belgian would be good as them......" But it did not came across like that. The only thing I can do is deeply appologise and put it into the behaviour as usual beeing a " Bull in a China Shop". I wish that my friends and all the others affected by my "jokes" will be able to forgive me at some point, but I would understand if I had gone to far this time with the way I am sometimes.

Search and Rescue

We finally started training again today for Search and Rescue. It was brilliant. Indy's alert is so spot on.... I can't ask for more. Yukon has to go lots of steps back. We need to start from the beginning at the moment. The missing person has the Bringsel. I found a much better Brinsel in Norway. The person who sells them did come back to me tonight and I will order some. As soon I can take some more Photos of this Bringsel-Work I will post them. All together I think we will have a very exciting year ahead regards the Search and Rescue........

SNOW AGAIN

After total chaos yesterday, today I managed to drive the van out of the road without any danger. Yesterday I did got stuck on the way to the Job centre. My friends hubby had to tow me out( Thanks again Derek). Just sliding towards town centre the Job Centre called not to come in.... Great bit late. Today I took the dogs for a long walk. They loved it. Lots of chasing and running. The boys love each other more and more( hope its brotherly love..... Did not get the job as a dog handler I applied for. I was first up sad, but thanks to all my friends got over it quickly and think now it was not meant to be. Something must come up surely. At the moment my gang is relaxing( Apre Ski I think its called..)

HAPPY NEW YEAR

I wish all my friends a happy and healthy 2010. Not much happening at the moment. Training starts this Sunday again. Richard is going back to work on Monday. We had a lovely time together. We have been every day to the field to work on some little issues we have with our Malinois Gang. We had Yukon on a bit cushion and he loved it. He also now picks up his "Bringsel" without help. But off course Mali typical he don't have the inside, why he should come back to me, if he is sure I see him standing with the Bringsel in his mouth. What a waste of energy to run backwards and forwards to get his favourite toy!!! He is just cute in whatever he does. I am not sure if he gets serious about any work, live is a big joke in his opinion.
